Why BASKO

Why BASKO

Boarding usually sells you a building. We sell you a day that runs the same way every time, handled by people your dog already knows. The room is nice too, but the room is not the point.

Groups of four

Matched on energy and play style, never on size. A carer is on the floor the whole time.

The same two carers

All week, not a rota. By the second night nobody is pacing at three in the morning.

Ninety minutes out

Twice a day, off site, on real ground. No amount of interior design replaces the walk.

One honest message

Every evening at six. What they ate, how far they walked, and the bad bits too.

The house

The house

One floor of the old glassworks on Bell Street. Twelve rooms, all with daylight and a door that closes, opening onto an enclosed garden that is shaded all summer. No runs, no concrete, no corridor of barking.

Every room has its own door to the ground floor, so the dogs who want company get it and the dogs who need twenty minutes off can take them without asking anyone.

Every room has its own door to the ground floor, so the dogs who want company get it and the dogs who need twenty minutes off can take them without asking anyone.

Someone is always in the building. Overnight that means two people awake, doing rounds at midnight and again at three, with a light left on in the corridor.

Meet the carers

Maya takes the days.
Jonas takes the nights.

Between the two of them they cover every hour your dog is here, for the whole stay. You will know both their names before the first night.

How a stay begins

Four steps, and none of them are rushed

From the first message to the first night is usually two weeks. Nothing about it happens at the door with the engine running.

First

Tell us about your dog

Age, breed, what worries them, what they eat. A short form, not an interview.

Questions, answered

The six we get every week

If yours is not here, write to us and a person will answer it properly.

Their own food, measured per meal, and one thing that smells of home. Beds, bowls and blankets are here already. If they use a particular harness or lead, send that too so walks feel familiar.
